Campus Overview
Located in California's Central Valley, CSU Stanislaus boasts a pastoral 220-acre

Armin R. Schulz
CSU Stanislaus
Professor of Teacher Education - College of Education
Dr. Armin R. Schulz, a member of the CSU faculty in the College of Education for the past
fifteen years, currently serves as the Director of the Faculty Center for Excellence in
Teaching and Learning at CSU, Stanislaus. Dr. Schulz has also served as the Program
Coordinator for the Reading/Language Arts Specialist Credential program. He teaches
courses in literacy development and pedagogy, reading research and trends, and children's
literature. Armin was named the 2003-04 Outstanding Professor of the Year at CSU,
Stanislaus.
Dr. Schulz has served on the state-wide Recommended Readings in Literature
Committee and the California Advisory Committee that assisted with the development of the
California Department of Education's Strategic Teaching and Learning
publication. He is a past President of the California Reading Association (CRA), a
recipient of the state-wide Marcus Foster Memorial Reading Award honoring both service
and scholarship to the state, and the California Association of Teachers of English
(CATE) "Classroom Excellence Award."
Schulz received his Master of Arts from San Francisco State University in Elementary
Education with an emphasis in Reading, and his doctorate from the University of the
Pacific with a Major in Curriculum and Instruction: Reading and Children's Literature
and a Minor in Educational Foundations and Administration. Dr. Schulz is a former
elementary and junior high school teacher, a junior high school vice-principal, an
elementary principal, and a district Director of Curriculum. |
