    Located on 274 acres in the heart of wine country, Sonoma State is an hour's drive north of San Francisco and 40 minutes from the Pacific Ocean. Sonoma State is dedicated to the liberal arts and sciences and is known for its active use of technology. As California's premier public undergraduate institution, Sonoma State has several renowned programs: its wine business program is unparalleled; its computer and engineering science program provides needed employees for the state's telecom industry and its Lifelong Learning Program for students ages 50 and over is a model for other institutions. Sonoma State's 500 faculty members provide exemplary instruction in a variety of courses throughout the institution's six schools: Arts and Humanities, Business and Economics, Education, Extended Education, Science and Technology, and Social Sciences.
