Campus Overview
CSU Channel Islands is Ventura County's first four-year public university and
the newest of the CSU's campuses. Minutes from the Pacific Ocean, the campus
rests at the foot of the Santa Monica Mountains on a 670-acre campus of
preserved natural coastal landscape, halfway between Santa Barbara and Los
Angeles. The early 20th-century structures have been updated to house a
state-of-the-art 21st-century university and building continues as the campus
prepares for the arrival of the first class of freshmen in fall 2003. CSU
Channel Islands has recruited a world-class faculty who will teach the inaugural
classes at the university.
